Jonathon Spaid

Jonathon Spaid, Team Director
 - I am from Brooklyn Center, MN and I grew up in an Evangelical Christian home. It was at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (where I was studying Exercise Science) that I first got involved with a Newman Center. It was through the Newman Center that I discovered the truth of the Catholic Faith. I was fully received into the Church Easter 2011. This will be my 4th year with FOCUS and I am thrilled to be working at St. Pauls Newman Center here at NDSU! I have a beautiful wife (Nicole) and a beautiful daughter (Chiara) and son (Gus). I love to do all kinds of things so just ask me and let's go hang out! GO BISON! - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Katie Weidner

Katie Weidner: I am from Lake Henry, Minnesota and was blessed to be raised in a beautiful, Catholic home with my loving family of 9. Although I was blessed in this way, being a cradle Catholic I definitely took our rich, beautiful faith for granted. It wasn’t until I came to college when I actually saw Jesus as a person and our faith as something to be proud of and live and die for. It was at a SEEK conference my sophomore year during Adoration where I surrendered my life to Christ. What a journey of hills and valleys it has been since then but when the Lord is the center of your heart, life is amazing and beautiful. Because I gave everything to God, He called me to become a missionary. I graduated with nursing and am now working with FOCUS to help heal those hidden wounds that students bear. I have a huge heart for mission and desire to serve OTHERS in any way I can. I am very excited to serve here at NDSU and watch God work through this ministry and all of you students! Please contact me if you are in need of anything! In the meantime I love to run, rollerblade, play Frisbee, do arts/crafts, and hang out and sip coffee! – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Joshua Fons

Joshua Fons - I was born and raised in an awesome Catholic family in Ann Arbor, MI. I just spent 4 incredible years at St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, MN, discerning the priesthood. Now, He was called me to North Dakota State to keep loving Him and those He has put in my life: all of you! Ask me about that transition, but all I will say here is that it never ceases to amaze me the plans that Jesus has for our lives! He is good, He just asks us to trust Him. Anyways, I am excited to be with all y'all in scenic Fargo, ND; I would love to play any sport with you: maybe scale the climbing wall, toss a Frisbee, shoot some hoops, lift some weights, whatever, you name it, I'll try it, and we will do it with Jesus! God bless! Go Bison! USA! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Sarah Carter

Sarah Carter: I’m from a one stoplight town Bloomfield Kentucky, where I’ve always called home along with my three younger siblings. I just graduated from Murray State University in western Kentucky where I studied Communication Disorders. It was while at Murray State that I recognized the blessing of my Catholic faith that I had taken for granted for so long. Trusting in the Lord’s will, I am now a second year FOCUS missionary and I am so excited to be serving at NDSU! Please let me know if I can do anything and I’d love to get to know you! I love riding horses, sweet tea, and laughing! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Rachel Ojeda

Rachel Ojeda: I am incredibly blessed to say that I come from a beautiful Catholic family in Lincoln, Nebraska. I am the oldest of six with two sisters and three brothers and along with my parents, we have lived on a small acreage outside of Lincoln for as long as I can remember. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I studied Broadcasting Production. Although I grew up in a very strong Catholic family, it was in college where I learned how to make my Catholic faith my own. I quickly got involved with the Newman Center and FOCUS at UNL and it was there that I saw other young people living a life in pursuit of Christ and it was inspiring. I wanted to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and through different encounters with Him, I felt Him tugging on my heart to join His mission and share His love with others. With my background in journalism, I knew that while every person has a unique story, they are all created for a relationship with Christ and I wanted to share that truth and love with others. I am so excited to be working with FOCUS and to be serving at NDSU. The Lord is going to work in amazing ways in the hearts of the students! Please let me know if I can do anything for you or if you want to hang out! You’ll often find me taking walks, relaxing in my hammock, exploring new places, grabbing a latte at a coffee shop, or spending time with friends! I would love to have you join me!  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
