Jonathon Spaid

Jonathon Spaid, Team Director
 - I am from Brooklyn Center, MN and I grew up in an Evangelical Christian home. It was at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (where I was studying Exercise Science) that I first got involved with a Newman Center. It was through the Newman Center that I discovered the truth of the Catholic Faith. I was fully received into the Church Easter 2011. This will be my 6th year with FOCUS and I am thrilled to be working at St. Paul's Newman Center here at NDSU! I have a beautiful wife (Nicole), two beautiful daughters (Chiara and Gemma) and son (Gus). I love to do all kinds of things so just ask me and let's go hang out! GO BISON! - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Marie Foley

Marie Foley: I grew up in an amazing Catholic family in Lincoln, Nebraska as the third of six kids, but I always had the idea that our faith was just a list of rules and regulations that I had to follow. This idea left me constantly searching, as I could never do enough, be enough, or appear enough to others. It wasn’t until a retreat at the end of high school that I finally had the breakthrough; Jesus wasn’t calling me to fit into this mold and try to fix myself into perfection. He was calling me to be His daughter and to receive His love. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Secondary Education for Math, and although I loved my students and teaching  - Jesus was calling me to join in His Mission and show others the love that I had been shown. I am beyond excited to be on staff with FOCUS  and to be part of the bisonCatholic family at NDSU. Feel free to reach out to me and let me know if there is any way I can help you or serve you! You’ll often find me exploring new coffee shops, playing sand volleyball, or wandering around the Newman Center or new parts of campus! This email address is being protected from spambots. Trey Stephens

Trey Stephens: I am from Columbus, NE. I grew up in a Catholic home and faith was always brought up on Sundays, but as I grew older it was never part of the weekdays of my life until I met a couple FOCUS missionaries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. That is where I had a huge re-conversion and found my identity in Christ and not in things of this world. I’ve been so inspired by the missionaries who invested in me that now I want to go out and fulfill The Great Commission, to go make disciples of all nations and especially on the college campus. I am so honored to be part of the bisonCatholic family and be surrounded by a great team here at NDSU. I’m excited to see how the Lord is going to work in the hearts of college students here in Fargo! Let me know if you need anything and don’t hesitate to contact me! Go Bison! Rachel Ojeda

Rachel Ojeda: I am incredibly blessed to say that I come from a beautiful Catholic family in Lincoln, Nebraska. I am the oldest of six with two sisters and three brothers and along with my parents, we have lived on a small acreage outside of Lincoln for as long as I can remember. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I studied Broadcasting Production. Although I grew up in a very strong Catholic family, it was in college where I learned how to make my Catholic faith my own. I quickly got involved with the Newman Center and FOCUS at UNL and it was there that I saw other young people living a life in pursuit of Christ and it was inspiring. I wanted to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and through different encounters with Him, I felt Him tugging on my heart to join His mission and share His love with others. With my background in journalism, I knew that while every person has a unique story, they are all created for a relationship with Christ and I wanted to share that truth and love with others. I am so excited to be working with FOCUS and to be serving at NDSU. The Lord is going to work in amazing ways in the hearts of the students! Please let me know if I can do anything for you or if you want to hang out! You’ll often find me taking walks, relaxing in my hammock, exploring new places, grabbing a latte at a coffee shop, or spending time with friends! I would love to have you join me! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
