Knights of Columbus

The Newman Knights began in November of 1985. Through the years it has been a great Catholic organization where men get together and contribute to the life of the Newman Center. It's a wonderful opportunity for Catholic men to help each other face the complexities of the modern world and to draw strength from our fellowship. We help each other to grow in holiness, develop virtue, and to learn the importance of the Catholic male witness in the world today. Newman Knights engage the college atmosphere with the teachings of our faith and contributions of time and talent to help build the Father's Kingdom here on the campus of NDSU. We've got a great bunch of guys who have made meaningful contributions to the life of Newman: this council has been a STAR Council every year running since 1999.

KC Trap Shoot 2017

Council meetings are held once a month on the first Thursday. The meetings start at 7:00pm and usually last 45 minutes to an hour.

On-going events include monthly visits to the sick, homebound, or lonely, perpetual rosary for life, and perpetual rosary for vocations. We often get together and engage in sports (like broom ball, bowling, basketball, or volleyball). We get together twice a year to do trap shooting with shotguns as well!

Annual Events:

-First meeting of the year. First Thursday of the month.
-KC Trapshoot - we blow things up & eat burgers

-Octoberfest. German food, root beer, and polka band at the Newman center.
-Halloween Food Drive. Non-perishable food is collected for the food shelf.

-Spiritual Bouquet. Knights offer a collection of prayers for someone in need.
-Corporate Communion Mass. A Mass is set aside as the one for all Knights, spouses, families, and significant others to attend together as a council.

-KC Pro-Life Rosary. Knights meet at St. Paul's and pray at a local "abortion mill".

-St. Paul's Feast Day. Meal and entertainment celebrating St. Paul's feast day.

-KC Breakfast. Breakfast is served after Mass Sunday morning
