This program will be available again this Fall Semester to juniors and up for students pursuing the life sciences or health care professions at NDSU or in the Tri-College community.
The first class in the series will be offered this fall: CHP 391 "Fundamentals of Catholic Health Care Ethics and Bioethics." It will be an online class and will examine the theory and practice of Catholic moral tradition as it applies to challenging and complex contemporary issues in health care. A second class in the Spring semester will continue this in-depth study of these important issues.
This historic, one-of-a-kind partnership is a tremendous opportunity for students pursuing the life sciences or health care professions to become certified in Health Care ethics from one of the premier medical ethics centers in the US. We are excited and proud to partner with NDSU and NCBC to make this program available to the students.
Once all the requirements are completed, students can receive certification in addition to 6 credits from NDSU on their transcript. Credits will fulfill professional electives required for pharmacy and nursing students. A student does not have to be in healthcare to take this course. The course is open to anyone interested in learning more about Catholic healthcare ethics.
Anyone with an interest in Catholic Healthcare Ethics may take the course.
Along with fulfilling NDSU class requirements, you will be better qualified to apply the Catholic moral tradition to the challenging contemporary issues in health care.
The certification cost to you is $2925.00 plus travel for the Two-day seminar listed above, as well as travel to Philadelphia, PA for the Case Study day.
